It has been a busy month of firsts for The Association of Investment Marketers (AIM). We launched the new Future Leaders course, held our first event in Edinburgh and celebrated the first graduation ceremony for our Academy and Leadership graduates. It is great to see the momentum and ongoing growth of our learning offering.

Future Leaders

Future Leaders is the most recent addition to AIM’s course portfolio, designed to enable aspiring investment marketers to prepare for future leadership roles. Day one saw our cohort covering communication and practicing the soft skills needed to negotiate and present more effectively. The group’s enthusiasm was truly encouraging to see. The upcoming sessions for this 6 month course will cover commerciality, digital strategy and innovation skills, as well as building the necessary confidence to attain buy-in from senior management.

This latest offering extends AIM’s portfolio to four courses, aimed at equipping investment marketers with the crucial skills they need at different stages of their careers to grow and progress. The other three programmes – AIM Induction, AIM Academy and AIM Leadership – will resume in February 2020.

Graduation Ceremony

We were delighted to celebrate the conclusion of this year’s Academy with a graduation ceremony for those who completed the programme. It was a valuable opportunity to acknowledge the effort, creativity and growth that we have seen from this year’s group. As the evening coincided with the end of the first day of the Future Leaders programme, it was also encouraging to see the networking of this group with the wider AIM community.

AIM in Edinburgh

AIM expanded its borders this month by hosting its first half-day session in Edinburgh. It included an interactive workshop on the 6 Dimensions of Marketing Leadership, hosted by Quentin Crowe, White Marble’s Chief Learning Officer. This was followed by Duncan Muir’s insight into advanced CRM application, and we ended the day with a panel discussion and Q&A.

Quentin commented: “We explored the unique challenges that senior investment marketers face in Edinburgh. Customer insight and internal communication are evidently hot topics, so it was really fascinating having Duncan Muir available to share his expertise about deploying Salesforce and aligning the culture of business to optimise its use.”

We are looking forward to hosting more Edinburgh events in the new year. Get in touch with us directly at [email protected] or call us on 020 3893 9740.

From early in 2020 we will be running our full course portfolio yet again, whilst also building out our network offering with the launch of the Premium Network. Keep an eye out on our Investment Marketers site and LinkedIn for our future events and learn more about our courses here.
