What’s your role at White Marble?
As Marketing and Community Manager at White Marble, most of my time is spent on our own marketing rather than that of clients. My role involves managing the White Marble brand and marketing activity, as well as growing and engaging with our larger marketing community through events and content. I am also part of the internal sustainability and brand teams that work to develop our business positioning in these areas.
What prior experience do you bring?
Before joining White Marble in 2019 I worked for a Ski Tour operator, leading their recruitment team. I landed the job after working for two ski seasons as a chalet host in the French Alps. While I can’t quite say it was like the movie Chalet Girl, I loved it!
Despite this, my true area of focus has always been marketing, with a particular emphasis on brand and culture. I earned my Master’s degree in Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh in 2015, where marketing was my specialism. This meant that when the role at White Marble presented itself, I was thrilled to apply my knowledge to practical contexts and continue building my experience.
What’s your favourite hobby or pastime?
My favourite hobby has to be skiing. I love nothing better than being in the mountains! When I come back down to earth I love to cook and entertain – I’m a people person and enjoy socialising, so I’m always busy seeing friends and family.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I am actually part Filipino, which no one ever believes when they meet me due to my translucent skin and blonde hair. Sadly I didn’t get the tanning gene! A related fun fact is that I haven’t actually visited the Philippines since my first visit as a baby, during which we crash landed! Thankfully I was far too young to remember any of it.
What’s a pet peeve of yours?
For me it has to be manners – if you’re talking to someone and they aren’t actually paying attention it drives me nuts!
What can’t you live without?
Diet Coke! I am shamefully addicted to the stuff!
