What’s your role at White Marble?
I lead White Marble’s sustainability practice and have recently moved to Boston in order to continue growing and expanding our business across North America. I’m one of the technical experts with regard to ESG and sustainability – especially from a regulatory perspective – and spend my time with clients and prospects, trying to better understand their needs and requirements.
What prior experience do you bring?
On the assumption that my previous life as a ski instructor isn’t especially relevant here, much of what I do now is built on the experience from working as a product specialist on Newton’s RI team, studying at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership and doing an Executive MBA programme which focused heavily on corporate purpose.
What’s your favourite hobby or pastime?
Outside of work my life revolves heavily around sport – especially skiing & mountaineering. I’m hoping that moving to the US will help my pretty meagre surfing ability. I’m also a pretty passionate collector (and drinker) of whisk(e)y.
What’s a fun fact about you?
When I graduated from university in 2006, I drove 9,000 miles from London to Mongolia in a 1989 Fiat Panda. Not sure I’ll have the chance to do something as amazing ever again.
What’s a pet peeve of yours?
Bad grammar is a particular peeve of mine – especially those who don’t understand the difference between ‘fewer’ and ‘less’.
What can’t you live without?
Snow. The deeper the better. Summertime’s not for me.
